The
South West Business Pulse - Summer 2009
Key decision makers in 123 tourism accommodation providers and agents
in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset were interviewed at the end of
July 2009, on the eve of the peak season. The global recession, poor exchange
rates and the promise of a hot summer have all been mooted as a cause
for widespread optimism for the UK tourist sector this year. This latest
poll is intended to gather the views and opinions of those on the 'front-line'
of the tourism sector to see whether this optimism has translated itself
into increased bookings and what measures, if any, tourism accommodation
providers have sought to adopt within the current economic climate.. Download
